Nordic Walking is the one of the fastest growing fitness activities in the world, employed by a variety of health and fitness professionals because it is highly effective and can be done by anybody, anywhere without expensive equipment or specialist clothing. Just grab a pair of walking shoes or sturdy trainers and a waterproof jacket and come along !
Nordic Walking uses poles to enhance your normal walking action:
The poles mean that 90% of your major muscles are used
By using the poles you can burn an extra 20-40% more calories – a great weight loss aid
The poles means the upper body muscles are used as well as the legs
The poles also help to propel you along – so that you work harder than usual but the support given by the poles makes it feel easier!
The poles take the pressure off your knees and joints and are great for back and neck problems
We will provide the poles for all of you walks with us. If you are new to Nordic Walking, Debbie can teach you the correct technique so that you can Nordic walk safely and maximise your workout !
We run several regular group sessions during the week, both during the day and in the evening. We can also run one to one sessions.
